February 18-20 Reigning Down on Oregon hosted by the ladies of Zephyr! 3 days of workshops, vendors, an open hafla, fire show, and a Saturday evening instructor showcase! All in a beautiful forest setting. The Bijou Project will be reuniting for a spectacular performance with fans and lots of sizzling Latin flair! February 26 Kamini's multi-level Tribal Fusion Class will be performing in the High Desert Bellydance Guild's first annual Student Showcase. Attendance by invitation only, sorry! April 10 The High Desert Bellydance Guild Spring Showcase at Common Table. The Quarterly Showcase features local performers representing a variety of belly dance styles and experiences --from classical Egyptian and Cabaret, to American Tribal Style and modern Tribal Fusion performances. April 29-May 1 Saqra's Spring Showcase at the Washington County Fair Complex in Hillsboro, OR Featuring workshops with dancers from across the country, tons on vending, full days of dance performances and live music with Americanistan and Mediterranean RaqsBand! The Bijou Project, Kamini and Samara will be performing on Saturday, April 30. May 28 Bellydance Uncorked at Vino Vixens (2929 SE Powell Blvd) in Portland! Portland’s brand of “weird” has spawned a new, unique evening showcase of varied talents! The May show features Sedona, the Bijou Project, Jen Samson, Gypsy, Endymienne, Kamini, and Samara, along with musical guests Azphodel! 7:30 PM-10:30 PM Bellydance Uncorked is an opportunity for the entire community to mingle, sip wine in a luscious, intimate wine lounge, and be enthralled by the myriad of burlesque, fusion, dancehall, hoop, tribal, fan, belly dancers and musicians the region has to offer. June 11-12 Belly Dancer USA™ Competition & Middle Eastern Bazaar, hosted by Mezdulene, Mystical Oasis and Jareeda. The Bijou Project was the 2009 Belly Dancer USA 1st Place Duet. This year, we'll be competing as alternative soloists! July 16-17 Mediterranean Fantasy Festival, hosted by the Babylonian Ensemble in Seattle, WA.
